Fanfiction Year in Review
I was gonna have a story to post, but I didn't finish it because I went and saw TRON: Legacy at the IMAX instead. Oh well.
Total Words: 56,535
Total Fics: 14
Total Fandoms Written: 5
Story With Most Words: The Fable of the Escape Artist (ICO) if you don't count my NaNo, which I don't cause it's unfinished
Fandom With Most Stories: FFVII
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?:
Very slightly less.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
I had to use my porn filter twice? That was unusual.
What's your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Women of Science (FFVII). I quite enjoyed focusing on the Shinra ladies.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
My NaNo (Your Intricate Design) felt pretty risky, considering I was writing from a character perspective I hadn't before.
What did you learn from them?
Fantasy is a great genre to use to get into the habit of writing characters you're not used to.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
- Finish Your Intricate Design's first draft.
My best story of this year:
The Fable of the Escape Artist, hands down. It really helped me get my writing voice back to where I wanted it again.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I rarely expect anything to be read by anyone except my ladyfriend, so I'm not terribly hung up on this.
Most fun story to write:
Holding Out For a Hero (FFVII). I need more Yuffie/Cid in my life, I think.
Story with the single sexiest moment:
There's not a lot of sexy in my stories, really. XD
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Yeah, that story on my porn filter in January (it's called Taboo for a reason). What with the xenokink and everything. No I am not unlocking it.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
The Ghost Inside. It figures that it would take Elfe for me to finally actually get Rufus Shinra.
Hardest story to write:
Finally finishing the next chapter of Hotel (FFVIII) I think. Not a whole story, obvs, but the way the chapters are set up is almost like little stories. I don't know why it was so hard to finish, I guess my mindset was always off when I tried.
Biggest Disappointment:
Not finishing NaNo, but hey I made half the wordcount. 1.5x more than any previous attempts.
Biggest Surprise:
The crazy amount of response to my Yuletide story.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Ha, if all my stories aren't telling you clearly don't know me that well.
