In honor of fandom love

So firefly99 was talking about how she wanted to try writing popular and oft terribly written pairings in FF7 fandom and make them good. Good as in a good story. XD So I was thinking on all my fandoms, and my list of what I find to be awful most of the time (by most, I do not mean anyone whose stuff I read regularly, because half the reason I read you is that a character list does not typically mean a warning sign for crap right ahead). Since I like to write in a lot of things in several (ok mostly FF, but it is not the same fandom across) fandoms, I've compiled a list of ones that I typically find awful.

- Nathan/Shilo (Repo!)
- Cid/Any Male (FF7)
- Vincent/Yuffie (FF7)
- Sephiroth/Cloud (FF7)
- Veld/Any Second Generation Turk But Especially Tseng (FF7:BC)
- Seifer/Edea (FF8)
- Squall/Ellone (FF8)
- Auron/Rikku (FFX)

The pattern is obvious, and my squicks are plain to see, but I am kind of intrigued. Sure, I won't write any of these as fluffy happy (and there's a comm on LJ for you to pick up pairings that you don't like and write them, only most of what is produced there is bland and general, as the people honestly don't care). But I'm me, and I like to fuck with boundaries and hit themes that even make me uncomfortable sometimes. And I sort of want to try it. I even have freaking PLOTBUNNIES here.

I guess my only question is, which ones on the list would you want to see me try and tackle, if at all?

Professional Misstep

Fandom: FF7:BC
Characters/Pairings: Rufus/Elfe
Rating: PG-13
Summary: People sometimes make bad decisions. What worst is the start.
Notes: Drak's fault. When is this kind of thing not ever her fault? Spoilers if you have no idea wtf Rufus was doing during Before Crisis. I am very tempted to write more of these two, post-game. Wouldn't that be a riot. I think my FF7 OTP is actually Shinra/AVALANCHE. This is also the second story I was able to finish because of the song "Bad Romance"... I think maybe there's a pattern here.
