Fandom: FFVI
Characters/Pairings: Terra/Setzer
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Terra has learned a couple things from her friends to get what she wants.
Notes: For the FF Kissbattle. Happens to be my favorite FFVI het pairing, so I couldn't not write for it. XD
The costumes were elaborate, as elaborate as Mobliz could make them. Terra had to hold back rushing over when the heroine almost tripped over her frilly skirt, but she recovered soon enough. And only Billy seemed to stumble over his lines. It had taken a lot of time to come up with an appropriate script for the actors; making something entertaining but doable by children was no small feat.
"When you said that Mobliz had a theater troupe I didn't realize that you meant you had started one." Setzer had a tendency to look either severe or amused, but this amusement had no shortness of fondness.
"I wanted to thank you for your help bringing supplies, and the kids were so excited..."
"Someday, we will get one of our friends with more resources to make a proper theater. Even here if you'd like."
More and more parents would be found, and eventually the orphanage would be no more. With Terra's almost aggressive attempts at finding them families, it wouldn't be long before she was alone in this dead town. That certainly would not do.
"Here? Oh no, not here."
She wasn't sure if she had learned it from Locke, or Edgar, or even Celes, but ways and means were starting to really make sense to her. And Terra was so much better in the director's chair than as the diva. Too many eyes on her made her ill.
"You'd like it to be somewhere else?"
Bernice was in the middle of a soliloquy, so Terra curled her fingers around Setzer's arm, and leaned close so she could speak lowly.
"I'd like to see the world, and never stop moving unless I felt like it."
He was supposed to be a gentleman, but she had always figured that was mere formality. Setzer should have kissed her later, after the show, not during the middle of the third act. She cut him off with a playful nudge, hoping that he didn't feel how her pulse had quickened considerably.
"A true appreciator of theater doesn't do that during a show." Coyness, yes, she had definitely learned that one from Edgar.
"Well then, Miss Branford, I do believe it is up to us to start a whole chain of theaters." He squeezed her hand, seemingly finished, but then pulled it up so he could kiss it instead.
"And a true appreciator of theater can do whatever they want if they have box seats."
